The polygons indicate the location and general shape of the water body. This layer shows named lakes, rivers and major conveyances (canals) and includes the named water bodies from the FEMA flood hazard layer. Please see the Data Quality portion of the metadata for process steps. For an official definition of "Lakes" see the cross referenced pdf. This GIS layer includes some smaller water bodies beyond the official definition of a lake. Other GIS files carry other hydro information such as ponds and canals. The SJRWMD Archydro file gives an overall view of the drainage network in Seminole County.</supplinf>

Lines are modified and re-drawn based on aerial photography from the Seminole County GIS library dating from 1999 (orthographs) to December 2009 (Pictometry); LiDAR based contour elevations coming from the FEMA Study and from the SJRWMD; 5ft DEM from SJRWMD for the eastern part of the county and the Volusia County Hydro file.
3. The attribute table has been updated with information pertinent to Seminole County especially the Water Quality Division.</procdesc>
